Basic background on my life: born in Newport Beach, CA, USA of a Belgian mother and French father, with two older sisters. I was fortunate to travel a lot as a child; we would go to France and Belgium every summer, most years we would go to Canada to visit family, and any long weekend we would drive around and explore. Motor-homes seemed to be a common mode of transportation as I recall many adventures in them (probably just a few but I loved those trips so much I must have imagined they happened more often). Going on planes was never an issue, something I most definitely took advantage of. It was only when I started meeting people in my teens that had never been on a plane that I realized how privileged I had been so young. My parents, just by being immigrants to the United States, showed me that packing up and moving should never be something that I should be afraid of; unfortunately it has become my addiction.
Now that that has been established, I am going to use this blog as a way to express my frustrations with living so far from "home" (wherever that is) but also to talk about various travels I have done and will be doing along my way to finding where I feel I am meant to be. To be discussed in "Somewhere I Belong".
